Bilee Grable - High School Principal

bilee.grable@piperschools.us

The position of a high school principal holds immense responsibility for shaping the academic future of countless students and establishing a collaborative educational environment.  My name is Bilee Jo Grable, and I am privileged to have the opportunity to support the continued success of Piper High School as your building principal.

As a high school principal, I strive to foster a dynamic and enriching learning environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This introductory bio offers a glimpse into my beliefs, aspirations, and commitment as an educational leader. I am eager to work together with the entire school community to realize our shared vision for a successful and progressive learning institution.

I am from and still live in the Kansas City area. You can say that I am a girl from the “Dotte!”  I am married to Jeff Grable, and we have three wonderful kids, Brooke (29), Hunter Jo (25), Beau (22), and a grandson Linkon (2). Since Jeff and I are empty nesters, we spend time together watching our grandson or caring for our farm. Taking care of cattle has been a learning experience. Hat’s off to all our farmers!!

Professionally, I am an accomplished educator in my 27th year of service to the profession. Of those 27 years, this is my 13th year in administration. In my 12 years as a school administrator, I served as the Assistant Principal at Piper Elementary and Piper East Elementary for 2 ½ years. Previously, I was the PROUD principal at Piper Prairie Elementary!

During my leadership at Piper Prairie Elementary, the building received the Governor’s Achievement Award in 2015, recognizing the Top 5% of Elementary Schools in Kansas, and the 2020 High Exemplary National Blue Ribbon Award, recognizing the top 5 schools in the state of Kansas. I continue serving on Dr. Randy Watson’s principal advisory committee for Kansas this year.

My leadership style is personable, authentic, and genuine. I am committed to the success of every child, and my drive and will to provide equitable access to all learners is what moves me to come to work each morning.

Education plays a significant role in the future of every individual. It starts with the relationships with all stakeholders, the curriculum taught in schools, and data-informed instructional decision-making.

Please know that I value home/school communication. It is vital and plays an integral role in each student’s success. I encourage you to contact us if/when the need arises and to stay in the know about your child’s studies, assignments, assessments, social-emotional wellness, school activities, and other events and happenings.

Your child receives the best education when you, our dedicated teachers, and staff work as a team. A parent’s enthusiasm, support, and involvement inspire children to do their best, and a teacher's ability to teach what they need to learn. Together we can achieve beautiful things!

Again, I am privileged to have the opportunity to support the continued success of Piper High School as your building principal. Piper High School is a place alive with energy, enthusiasm, and a high standard of excellence! It is indeed a place where opportunities abound!

“It’s always a great day to be a Pirate!”
